I've developed two javascript calculators. The original basic javascript calculator (at the following link >>> ) doesn't calculate the product of probabilities, of all mutations selected (using the Product Rule). So I developed a new calculator (below) to do this. This new calculator is better for working out the offspring genotypes and percentage probabilities for each genotype, i.e. better for determining the results of breeding two birds together.
This calculator calculates the product of probabilities, of all mutations selected (using the Product Rule). Select mutations from up to 4 LOCI ONLY, from the following list.
*
This calculator doesn't take into consideration linkages. Due to time constraints in completing the programming, I've removed sex-linked mutations & multiple alleles from the E locus (restricted to E and wild type e+).
The following probabilities calculator is used by selecting the genotypes for both the male and female parents, then clicking the "Calculate Progeny Probabilities" button to produce the offspring genotype probabilities. Mutations are listed by previous categories (ie secondary patterns, diluters, etc). Select heterozygous or homozygous for each mutation (wild type is the default, and is not selected). The Calculator works out percentage/fraction probabilities, phenotypes and genotypes for all mutations selected.
This calculator will work offline. If you want to save this calculator to your own computer, save this page "calculators.html" (by using the browser menu: File _ Save As...), then save the following file "results.htm" to the same folder/directory as the calculator (make sure the results file is saved with the correct name & file extension as above). Both htm web pages are needed to make the calculator work. Otherwise, you can download the following self extracting compressed file (by clicking on the link, then selecting "Save" button): chicken_calculator-5loci.exe (file size 139 KB). Once downloaded & executed, it will extract all the files into correct folders/directories. This last version has been extended, with the option of selecting 5 loci for calculation.
